I think that I am somewhat overwhelmed with the "landslide" so the discussion has been quite interesting.

Taking on new forms of social media, while necessary, could continue to be overwhelming unless you break it into smaller pieces.

I just do NOT have enough time in any week to learn everything.

Since I am new to blogging, I don't yet have an answer for how I promote my blog. This "cabal" might just be the best way for me to learn about it.

When I publish a new post, which I do about 4 times a week, I will post a link on Twitter in the morning then wait a bit and post a link on my Facebook fan page in the afternoon. The second link on my fan page is worded a little differently from the Twitter link. I really try to not inundate my friends/followers/fans with too many announcements about every post I publish--I think twice is enough.

We are not a real secret and we want to encourage to join us next month.

Etiquette is a tough issue and it was good to get feedback from others. Especially helpful was consensus that adjusting the message to the group you send "new post" notice helps overcome over sending.

Also appreciated Laura Faulkner's idea of pulling a key point from the post to put in the subject line to give people a heads up on the post and save them time.
